How we build a shower
The tiles are the last layer, not the first
Most leaking showers fail underneath the tiles. This is the order we build a wet area in, and we check each layer before starting the next.
Strip-out and check
Old tiles and bedding come off. We check the walls and slab for movement, rot and old leaks.
Screed with falls
The floor is screeded so water runs to the waste every time, with no puddles in the corners.
Waterproof membrane
Primer, bond breakers at the joints, then the membrane at full thickness to AS 3740. Photographed for your records.
Set-out and tiling
We plan the layout before the first tile, so it's centred, level and has no thin slivers at the edges.
Grout, silicone, handover
Grouting, silicone at the movement joints, a full clean, and a walk-through with you.
